ABOUT ME

My name is Meena Bhatia and I am an experienced Consultant Obstetrician working at the Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust. I have a decade of Consultant experience and have worked in the NHS for over 20 years.

I graduated from University College London and completed my Obstetric and Gynaecology training in the Thames Valley Area (Oxford Deanary). I have worked in the Maternity Department in Oxford since I finished my training.

As part of my Consultant role I provide antenatal care to high-risk pregnancies in Oxfordshire. I have led the Birth Choices Clinic and I support women during the birthing process. In addition to this I provide regular postnatal care and lead the postnatal clinic in Oxford. I have an expertise in Obstetric wound management and extensive experience where wounds are infected or healing poorly.

The postnatal aspect of care is crucial - facilitating birth debriefs if needed, answering questions that no doubt come up, planning and overseeing the recovery period after birth and supporting you on the journey of motherhood.

I am extremely passionate about my role and the care I provide. This is clearly evident in everything that I do and will come through in all our interactions.

I wholeheartedly believe that promoting wellness and wellbeing in pregnancy enhances the pregnancy and postnatal experience and will serve to improve the health and wellbeing outcomes of mothers and babies.

It would be an absolute privilege for me to be a part of your journey and provide the care you need - in exactly the way you need it.
